Word Verification

I normally don’t blog twice in the same day, but I’ve run into a huge snag with commenting on some of your blogs…namely the ones that require word verification. I cannot leave a comment on these blogs and for the life of me, I cannot understand why. I type up my comment, type in the special code…and am told over and over again that I have entered the wrong letters. I even tried commenting under my blogger profile. No dice.

So I am pleading with all of you with word verification..turn it off. Turn on comment moderation if you must, but please do everyone a favor and turn off word verification. No one enjoys trying to decipher those strange words, especially when one is still forbidden to comment after all that trouble.

Thank you.

I have comment moderation on because we are leaving shortly for San Diego and I get tons of spam everyday. I too hate word verification and refuse to use it. You’ll never have to worry about word verification with me.

    Have a terrific day. :)

I took off my Blogger word verification quite some time ago. Seems to me that Blogger actually has a pretty good spam net in place and while spammers try, they get shuttled to a spam folder and their comments aren’t posted.
Not sure if it is similar on WordPress or any other blogging platforms…

I have to really, really want to visit those who have word verification (and this causes me to visit very seldom). It is sooo annoying, especially with the puter trying to make a ‘real’ word out of those annoying combinations. Bugger that…

    Have a great night!

I have a lot of problems with spam, so that is why I have it on. I did do the embedded comments this week and found that a lot of people were having problems with that so I ditched it and went back to the old way. Hopefully it will clear up again. Sorry if you had that problem at my place. But now you can at least just tell everyone that you were leaving LOTS of comments on their blogs but it wasn’t accepting them. ;)

I got rid of word verification a long time ago. I also hate it. I only put it on my blog because of all the spam I was getting. Bloggers spam filters have gotten really good though and there really isn’t a need for it any more.
