Dress Fitting

Today Mom and I went for my first dress fitting. I admit that I was a little worried about seeing my dress. It’s been quite a few months since I initially picked it out, and as the sample dress was actually black with a white ribbon-not the ivory/red combination I chose…there was that teeny tiny possibility that the colors would be all wrong.

But I went and it’s pretty much as I imagined it. So that was a relief. And aside from a few alterations, it fits really well. I’ll go back in August (when I have my bridal shower) for the final fitting and then close to the wedding someone can take the dress back to the shop to get pressed. So that is pretty much taken care of.

Aside from the dress fitting-I’ve been pretty productive the past two days. Yesterday I managed to clean my bathroom, took care of some business on the phone…and then I went through my dressers and closet to weed out the stuff I don’t want anymore. There wasn’t a whole lot-I got rid of a ton of stuff before I moved to NY the first time, and got rid of stuff when I left NY and truthfully, I haven’t done a lot of clothes shopping in the interim…but there were a few things that I never wear that I was more then happy to part ways with. And then, since Spring FINALLY decided to stick around, I took all the winter stuff and packed it into a suitcase. Somehow I managed to get all my clothes, plus both my winter coats into that suitcase. Granted, now I cannot lift it. But S.D. is a strong fellow. I’m sure he can handle it.

After that though, I admit, I was pooped…

Today was just as productive…though, a lot less physical. I got up and cleaned out my car a bit (I’m embarrassed to admit how messy my car gets) and dropped it off for an oil change. Then I came home and vacuumed (shedding season has officially started), went for my fitting, and then Mom and I went to Salad Works for lunch and did some shopping at BJ’s. I bought a new mattress pad for my bed…then I ended up having to run out again to pick up tomatoes for our dinner as we forgot to get them at BJ’s. Actually that was kind of a funny conversation…

Me: Let’s have BLT’s for dinner.
Mom: Oh, and we’ll have taco’s another night this week.
Me: Should we get tomatoes?
Mom: Nah, I’ll get them at the produce place tomorrow.

After we get home.
Mom: Oh, I guess we should have gotten tomatoes after all. We only have the B and the L…

Tomorrow I’ll probably try to do a little more packing-if possible-and then in the afternoon Mom and I have the cake tasting. And if I don’t get around to packing…well, still got three more days of vacation and a full other week +three/four days. I’m not really stressed out about it like I was.

hehehe… Bee beat me to it! I’d be glad to be your cake taster, too! You know, if you need an alternate or a second opinion…

The thing is honey, things are going to get done and happen whether or not you stress about it… so you may as well not stress!

    big hugs xoxo

Whew! I’m worn out from all of that! Sitting back and tasting cake sounds like a nice relaxing time to me!

Don’t forget to take some time in there for YOU to just relax a bit; things will no doubt get more stressful before they calm down so be sure to be good to you as often as you can!
